Kristin Fischer will join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She covers everything, from NASA as well as the Space Force and commercial space companies, to the emergence of Space Tourism. Kristin, her mother was one of NASA astronauts and an enthusiastic space lover was raised in the field. She worked for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy in the Biden and Trump administrations. During that time, she was also a reporter covering impeachment proceedings for the president and the 2020 presidential election and efforts by two administrations to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. She also traveled with President Trump and the Vice President often. The trip included a shady trip with him to Afghanistan. Kristin was a local television reporter for Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., where she earned the Emmy Award for her work as a "one-man-band" reporter prior to joining CBS in 2015. Kristin's skills as a camerawoman helped her establish Field Mouse Films which specialized creating documentary-style films for corporate clients like Uber Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is an Bachelor in Science in Journalism that she earned from Boston University. She and her husband reside and their two children in Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
